The Statue of Unity is a monumental statue located in the Narmada district of Gujarat, India, and is dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of independent India. The statue stands as a symbol of Patel’s contributions to the unification of India and his leadership during its independence struggle. 

Statue Specifications:

Height: The Statue of Unity stands at a towering height of 182 meters (597 feet), making it the tallest statue in the world. It is more than twice the height of the Statue of Liberty in the United States.
Design: The statue depicts Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in a standing posture, wearing traditional Indian attire. The sculpture is created using bronze-clad reinforced concrete, designed by renowned sculptor Ram V. Sutar.
Foundation: The statue rests on a massive base with a plinth that houses a museum, exhibition halls, and an audio-visual gallery.
Inauguration: The Statue of Unity was inaugurated on October 31, 2018, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the 143rd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Architectural Features:

Base Structure: The statue stands on a pedestal that is 20 meters high. The total height of the structure, including the pedestal, is around 182 meters.

Viewing Gallery: At a height of 153 meters, there is a viewing gallery that offers panoramic views of the Narmada Valley, the Sardar Sarovar Dam, and the surrounding landscapes.

Surrounding Complex: The statue is part of a larger tourism complex, which includes:
      A museum showcasing the life and achievements of Sardar Patel.
      An audio-visual gallery that provides insights into his role in the Indian independence movement.
      Lush gardens and pathways, making the site more attractive for visitors.

Location and Accessibility:

The statue is situated approximately 3.5 kilo meters from Kevadia, 25 kilo meters from Rajpipla, 90 kilo meters from Vadodara, 150 kilo meters from Surat, and 200 kilo meters from Ahmedabad. Visitors can park their vehicles on chargeable in the designated area near the site and use the Statue of Unity Bus Service for internal transportation.

Visiting Hours:
