Jhanor is notable for the Jhanor-Gandhar Thermal Power Station, a gas-based power plant operated by the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC). Located about 18 kilometers northeast of Bharuch city, the plant has an installed capacity of 648 MW, comprising three units of 131 MW each and one unit of 255 MW. It utilizes natural gas sourced from the Gandhar Gas field and water from the Narmada River for its operations.
